The Sudbury Wolves selected John McFarland with the first overall pick in the 2008 Ontario Hockey League selection draft on Saturday.
He had 96 goals and 69 assists for 165 points with the Greater Toronto Hockey League's Toronto Jr. Canadiens this season.
"The Sudbury Wolves are extremely proud to be selecting John as our first overall selection on Saturday," Wolves general manager Mike Foligno said in a release. "John is extremely talented and possesses all the skills necessary to succeed at the next level. He will be a valuable addition to our young and talented team."
