This weekend, Brayden Schenn proved who is really king of the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Schenn played the hero again, scoring his second game-winning goal in as many nights, as the Wheat Kings defeated the Swift Current Broncos 3-1 in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

The Saskatoon native scored a pair of goals, bringing his weekend total to five points (three goals, two assists). Schenn, brother of Toronto Maple Leafs top prospect Luke Schenn, now has 13 points in 12 games this season.

Schenn scored his first goal in the last second of the first period and notched the eventual winner while short-handed early in the second. Jay Fehr added an insurance marker for Brandon later on in the second period.

The Wheat Kings (7-4-1-0) have collected nine out of a possible 10 points over their last five games, the only blemish coming in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Elsewhere in the WHL, it was: Everett 5, Kamloops 2; Kelowna 3, Seattle 2; Kootenay 6, Chilliwack 3; Medicine Hat 6, Regina 3; Moose Jaw 5, Portland 4; Red Deer 6, Prince George 4; and Tri-City 3, Spokane 2 (SO).

At Brandon, Man., Keegan Dansereau scored the only goal for the Broncos (9-4-0-0) on the power play with a minute remaining in the game, ending Andrew Hayes' shutout bid.

Hayes finished with 25 saves for the Wheat Kings. Swift Current netminder Mark Guggenberger stopped 31 shots.
