TORONTO - Forward Joel Broda of the Moose Jaw Warriors was named Canadian Hockey League player of the week Thursday.
He had nine goals and two assists for 11 points in four Western Hockey League games last week.
Eric O'Dell of the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves and Mikhail Stefanovich of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Quebec Remparts were also considered.
Martin Jones of the WHL's Calgary Hitmen was named CHL goaltender of the week.
He posted a 3-0-0-0 record with two shutouts last week. Jones had a 0.33 goals-against average and .986 save percentage over the three-game stretch.
