Seemingly down-and-out after the first period, the Gatineau Olympiques scored five straight goals, including Alexandre Quesnel's winner with 10 seconds left, en route to a 6-5 win over the Val-d'Or Foreurs in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Wednesday.
The Foreurs bust to a 4-0 first-period lead in front of 1,870 hometown fans before Paul Byron scored his 32nd goal of the season early in the to second to get the Olympiques on the board.
Derek Famulare restored Val-d'Or's four-goal advantage just 25 seconds later, but after that the home team fell apart and allowed Gatineau to storm back and win the game.
Gatineau (36-23-2-3) moved a step closer to locking up the QMJHL's West Division with the win. The Olympiques, who have four games remaining, lead Montreal by eight points, though the Junior have a game in hand.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Drummondville 8 Baie-Comeau 5; Saint John 4 P.E.I. 3; and Rimouski 4 Quebec 2.
At Val-d'Or, Que., Quesnel scored twice while Joshua Domingues, Dave Nolin and Nicolas Boyer had Gatineau's other goals.
Maxime Sauve, Keven Guerette-Charland, Jonathan Hazen and Samuel Morneau had Val-d'Or's first-period goals.
Gatineau starting goaltender was chased after giving up Val-d'Or's fifth goal on 17 shots. Marc-Antoine Gelinas stopped all 20 shots he faced in relief.
Jean-Sebastien Boucher stopped 42 shots for the Foreurs (18-38-3-5), who are last in the West.

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Christopher DiDomenico had two goals and an assist and Marc-Antoine Desnoyers added three assists as league-leading Drummondville beat the Drakkar.
Mike Hoffman also scored twice, while Philippe Bergeron, Gabriel Dumont, Ryan McKiernan and Dany Masse added singles for the Voltigeurs (51-10-0-4).
Marc-Olivier Mimar scored twice, while Jordan Bernier, Emrik Guillemette and David Duhamel had the other goals for Baie-Comeau (19-35-7-2).
Sea Dogs 4 Rocket 3
At Saint John, N.B., Alexandre Leduc had three assists to lead the Sea Dogs over P.E.I.
Danick Gauthier, Shea Kewin, Michael Kirkpatrick and Nicholas Pard scored for the Sea Dogs (31-27-2-2).
Chris Doyle had two goals and Jason Legault also scored for the Rocket (24-31-4-5).
Oceanic 4 Remparts 2
At Quebec City, Keven Veilleux scored twice as Rimouski beat the Remparts.
Jordan Caron and Maxime Ouimet also scored for the Oceanic (40-22-1-0).
Mikhail Stefanovich and Jonathan Audy-Marchessault replied for Quebec (46-14-0-3).
