VAL-D'OR, Que. - Jonathan Audy-Marchessault's goal early in the second period stood as the game winner in the Quebec Remparts' 5-3 victory over the Val-d'Or Foreurs on Tuesday night in the QMJHL.
Audy-Marchessault scored his sixth goal of the season 1:18 into the second period to give the Remparts (4-1-2) a 4-1 lead. Keven Guerette-Charland's power-play goal at 13:43 cut into the lead, and Maxime Sauve scored on a penalty shot at 18:23 to move Val-d'Or (2-5-1) to within one.
Julien Corriveau iced the win for Quebec, scoring into an empty net with one second remaining in the third period.
Martin Lefebvre, Maxime Gravel and David Gilbert had first-period goals for the Remparts, who went 2-for-8 on the power play. The Foreurs finished 1-for-2 with the man advantage.
Aliaksandr Famin had the other Val-d'Or goal.
Jean-Philippe Gagnon turned aside 22 shots to earn the win for Quebec, while Sean Coulton made 36 saves in defeat for the Foreurs.
