HALIFAX - Petr Straka's power-play goal 5:42 into the third period was the difference as the Rimouski Oceanic edged the struggling Halifax Mooseheads 4-3 in QMJHL action Thursday night.
Patrice Cormier scored twice for Rimouski (2-3-2-0), with Felix Lefrancois adding the other goal for the Oceanic.
Carl Gelinas, Travis Randell and Steve Gillard replied for Halifax (0-7-0-0), which trailed 3-1 after 40 minutes but managed to tie the match with a pair of power-play goals in the opening 78 seconds of the third period.
Oceanic goalie Matthew Dopud made 20 saves, while Joel Grondin stopped 30 shots for the Mooseheads.
MAINEiacs 5 Voltigeurs 4 (SO)
At Lewiston, Maine, Sebastien Trudeau scored in shootout and in regulation to lift the MAINEiacs over Drummondville.
Etienne Brodeur, Billy Lacasse and Pier-Olivier Morin also scored in regulation for Lewiston (5-2-0-0), while Alexander Beaton added a shootout marker.
Marc-Olivier Vachon, Philippe Lefebvre, Marc-Antoine Desnoyers and Jonathan Brunelle had goals in regulation for the Voltigeurs (6-0-0-1), with Alexandre Comtois scoring in the shootout.
