After their defence and goaltending faltered, the Barrie Colts relied on their vaunted offence to stun the Oshawa Generals.

Rookie Alexander Burmistrov scored the game-winner with seven seconds left in the third period as the Colts earned an improbable 6-5 win over the Generals in an Ontario Hockey League thriller Thursday night.

Trailing 5-1 just past the midway point of the second period, the Colts (6-2-0) erupted for five unanswered goals, capped by Burmistrov's second of the game. The 17-year-old native of Kazan, Russia is second on the team with 14 points, leading Barrie to an Eastern Conference-best 38 goals through eight games.

Alex Hutchings kicked off the comeback with a power-play goal at 12:31 of the second, and later tied the game 5-5 with 4:31 left in the third.

Ryan O'Connor and Josh Brittain had the other Barrie goals, while Stephen Gaskin chipped in with three assists.
