The Everett Silvertips scored nine unanswered goals to hammer the Portland Winterhawks 10-4 Sunday night in WHL action.
Everett trailed 3-0 after 13 minutes, but Tyler Maxwell's goal with 2.8 seconds remaining in the first period opened the floodgates. Everett scored four times in the second period and five in the third.
Maxwell, Rasmus Rissanen and Chris Langkow each scored twice for Everett (3-2-0), which set a franchise record for goals in a game. Shane Harper had a goal and three assists and Alex Theriau added four assists for the Silvertips, while Radko Gudas, Byron Froese and Kellan Tochkin also scored.
Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Tri-City 5 Seattle 4 (SO); Red Deer 5 Brandon 4; and Moose Jaw 4 Kootenay 2.
At Everett,Wash., Nino Niederreiter had a goal and an assist to pace Portland (7-3-0), while Chris Francis, Ryan Johansen and Stefan Schneider had the other goals.
Thomas Heemskerk gave up two goals on four shots for Everett before being replaced by Kent Simpson, who turned aside 24 of 26 shots in relief.
Kurtis Mucha allowed seven goals on 28 shots for Portland, while Ian Curtis stopped nine of 12 shots in relief.

At Kent, Wash., Tri-City overcame a four-goal deficit by scoring four power-play goals, then won a shootout decision over Seattle.

At Red Deer, Alta., Willie Coetzee scored two goals, including the winner with 48 seconds remaining, as the Rebels edged Brandon.
Warriors 4 Ice 2
At Moose Jaw, Sask., Jason Bast scored his league-leading 13th goal of the season and the Warriors came back to down Kootenay.
