Thomas Heemskerk made a game-saving stop and the Everett Silvertips beat the Medicine Hat Tigers 3-1 in Western Hockey League action Tuesday.
Heemskerk made a lunging save on Jace Coyle during a Medicine Hat power play to maintain Everett's slim 2-1 lead.
"That saved the game for us," Silvertips coach Craig Hartsburg told the Medicine Hat News. "He played good all night, but that save in the third was big."
Elsewhere in the WHL, Saskatoon edged Moose Jaw 2-1 and Tri-City beat Kamloops 8-3.
At Medicine Hat, Alta., Shane Harper, Byron Froese and Scott MacDonald scored for Everett to back Heemskerk's 25-save performance.
Bretton Cameron replied for Medicine Hat, while Tyler Bunz made 16 saves.
