Los Angeles Kings prospect Maxim Kitsyn is on the verge of getting a transfer approved from Novokuznetsk Metallurg in the KHL to the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors of the OHL.

Nothing has been finalized but once approved; Kitsyn would join the Majors immediately following the World Junior Championship where he is playing for Team Russia.

The 19-year-old Kitsyn is the Kings' sixth-round selection (158th overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Currently playing his third consecutive season with Metallurg, he has three goals and four assists in 17 games this season.

The St. Mike's Majors are hosts of the 2011 Memorial Cup tournament this May.
