QUEBEC -- Jonathan Drouin scored the winning goal 14:58 into overtime and assisted on two more as the Halifax Mooseheads eliminated the Quebec Remparts by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action.
Halifax will now face the Rimouski Oceanic in the Semi-Finals.
Cameron Critchlow was the game's first star as he scored four times for the Mooseheads, who won four straight contests after being down 3-0 in the series.
Nathan MacKinnon had three assists for Halifax while Konrad Abeltshauser chipped in with two of his own.
Logan Shaw had a goal and two assists for the Remparts, who allowed 15 goals in their four losses after giving up only eight in their three victories.
Mikael Tam had a goal and an assist for Quebec and Anthony Duclair and Adam Erne scored a goal apiece.
Zachary Fucale made 41 saves for the win while Louis Domingue turned away 24 shots in a losing effort.
Halifax went 2 for 3 on the power play as Quebec scored once on four chances with the man advantage.
Oceanic 5, Armada 4
BOISBRIAND, Que. -- Alexandre Mallet scored twice and added an assist as the Rimouski Oceanic eliminated the host Blainville-Boisbriand Armada by a score of 5-4 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action.
Rimouski will now face the Halifax Mooseheads in the Semi-Finals.
Peter Trainor had a goal and an assist for the Oceanic, who won back-to-back games after being down in the series 3-2, while Jakub Culek and Alexandre Tanguay scored the others.
Vincent Richer scored two goals for the Armada, Tommy Giroux had a goal and two assists and Raphael Pouliot added a single goal.
Samuel Hodhod chipped in with two assists for Blainville-Boisbriand.
Jacob Gervais-Chouinard stopped 21 of 25 shots for Rimouski before Carl Hozjan took over in goal with just eight minutes remaining in the game.
Hozjan made three saves to pick up the victory while Etienne Marcoux made 26 saves in a losing effort.
Rimouski went 0 for 1 on the power play as Blainville-Boisbriand failed to score on either of their opportunities with the man advantage.
Sagueneens 3, Cataractes 2
SHAWINIGAN, Que. -- Christian Ouellett scored twice, including the game winner, and added an assist as the Chicoutimi Sagueneens eliminated the host Shawinigan Cataractes by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action.
Chicoutimi will now face the top-seeded Saint John Sea Dogs in the Semi-Finals.
Guillaume Asselin also scored for the Sagueneens, who won back-to-back contests after finding themselves down 3-2 in the series.
Brandon Gormley and Anton Zlobin scored for the Cataractes.
Christopher Gibson made 28 saves for the win, and the game's first star, while Alex Dubeau allowed three goals on 17 shots in defeat.
Chicoutimi went 1 for 2 on the power play as Shawinigan scored once on three opportunities with the man advantage.
