Barclay Goodrow made sure Kingston Frontenacs' winning streak came to an end.

The Brampton captain scored twice and added an assist Thursday as the Battalion beat Kingston 4-1 to hand the Frontenacs their first loss of the Ontario Hockey League season.

Brennan Feasey and Nick Paul added their first OHL goals for Brampton (2-2-1).

"It feels great to start the weekend on the right foot," said Goodrow. "They came in here undefeated in their first three games so it was nice to put an end to that streak."

Goodrow opened the scoring with a short-handed goal at 10:56 of the second period. Goodrow moved down the left wing off a turnover in the neutral zone and fired a wrist shot past Frontenacs goaltender Colin Furlong.

Brampton added to its lead a little over four minutes later when Feasey redirected Zach Bell's point shot.

The Battalion went up 3-0 on another deflection a mere 1:22 later when Goodrow notched his second of the game, tipping a Dylan Blujus shot while screening Furlong.

Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Sudbury 4, Peterborough 1; Niagara 3, Mississauga 2; and Guelph 5, Windsor 1.

At Brampton, Ont., Kingston (3-1-0) replied at 18:42 of the second when Darcy Greenaway's wrist shot found its way past Matej Machovsky.

The Battalion put the game out of reach at 12:48 of the third period when Goodrow picked up his third point of the game on Paul's goal.

Furlong surrendered four goals on 37 shots, while Machovsky made 21 saves.

The Frontenacs failed to capitalize on any of their three power-play opportunities, while the Battalion went 1-for-5 with the man advantage.
