Justin Auger scored three times, including the winner, as the Guelph Storm defeated the visting Plymouth Whalers 5-4 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.
With just five seconds remaining in the third period, the 18-year-old broke a 4-4 tie with his third goal of the game.
Auger now has four goals in six games after scoring only seven goals in 58 contests last season.
Andrey Pedan and Jason Dickinson also scored for the Storm (4-2-0) while Ryan Horvat and Patrick Waitling each chipped in with two assists.
Stefan Noesen led the Whalers (1-1-2) offensively with a goal and an assist as Cody Payne, Rickard Rakell and Gianluca Curcuruto each scored once.
Garret Sparks stopped 29 shots for the win as Matt Mahalak made 25 saves in a losing effort.
Guelph went 0-for-7 on the power play while Plymouth went 2-for-5.

At Guelph, Ont., Curcuruto opened the scoring for Plymouth with a power-play goal 1:30 into the first period.
Auger responded at 9:57, but Payne scored at 16:57 to give the Whalers a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of play.
After a scoreless second period, Noesen made it 3-1 at 2:22 of the third period while on the power play.
Dickinson got one back for Guelph a 1:22 later and Pedan and Auger scored 33 seconds apart to give the Storm their first lead of the game.
Rakell made it 4-4 at 11:14, however Auger's third goal of the game came at 19:55.
