QMJHL: Fortier, Gravel lead Oceanic to upset over Remparts

Simon Fortier and Maxime Gravel were instrumental in the Rimouski Oceanic's upset of the Quebec Remparts on Wednesday.

Both scored in the middle of the third period as Rimouski held on for a 5-4 victory over the division-rival Remparts in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Despite the loss, Quebec (15-5-0) still leads the QMJHL's East Division, while the Oceanic (12-7-3) are third in the division.

Fortier and Gravel scored less than two minutes apart in the third to give Rimouski a 5-3 lead.

Nick Sorensen replied for the Remparts, but Quebec wasn't able to complete the comeback.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Cape Breton 5 P.E.I. 3; Val-d'Or 3 Acadie-Bathurst 2 and Baie-Comeau 7 Shawinigan 1.

At Rimouski, Que., Anthony DeLuca, Scott Oke and Peter Trainor also scored for the Oceanic.

Mikhail Grigorenko, Pierre-Maxime Poudrier and Anthony Duclair also had goals for the Remparts.

At Sydney, N.S., Alexandre Lavoie scored on the power play and into an empty net as Cape Breton (6-11-5) downed P.E.I. (12-8-1).

Foreurs 3 Titan 2

At Bathurst, N.B., Vincent Dunn scored the winner in the last minute of play as Val-d'Or (10-9-2) edged Acadie-Bathurst (9-11-4).

Drakkar 7 Cataractes 1

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Petr Straka had a hat trick and two assists as the Drakkar (15-4-2) routed Shawinigan (4-15-2).
