QMJHL: Duffy's five-point night leads Rocket over Sea Dogs

Ben Duffy had a goal and four assists Thursday as the P.E.I. Rocket defeated the Saint John Sea Dogs 6-3 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Josh Currie added a goal and two assists for P.E.I. (29-20-2), while Jimmy Ogilny also scored and added an assist.

Victor Provencher and Erik Robichaud had the other goals for the Rocket, who got 31 saves from Maxime Legace.

Pierre Durepos, Mackenzie Brown and Noah Zilbert scored for Saint John (19-31-1). Maxime Villemair chipped in with two assists, while Sebastien Auger stopped 37 shots in taking the loss.

In the only other game in the QMJHL, Drummondville got past Rouyn-Noranda 4-3.

At Saint John, N.B., the Rocket led 2-0 after the first period and doubled their lead early in the second when Robichaud scored at 1:30 and Provencher added another just 92 seconds later.

Durepos scored on a power play at 5:49, but Duffy made it 5-1 after two periods for the Rocket with a goal at 12:05.

Zilbert and Brown scored less than four minutes apart midway the third period to give the Sea Dogs life.

But Currie scored into an empty net with 17 seconds left in regulation to seal it.

P.E.I. finished the night 2-for-7 on the power play, while Saint John wound up 1-for-6.

At Rimouski, Que., Olivier Archambault scored twice as Drummondville (27-19-4) eased by the Huskies (31-20-1).
