Friday night was sweet revenge for Nikita Kucherov.

The 19-year-old forward scored three goals and three assists as his Rouyn-Noranda Huskies downed his former club the Quebec Remparts 6-1 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action.

The Huskies, who acquired Kucherov from Quebec via trade in November, will advance to the third round of the QMJHL playoffs while the Remparts have been eliminated in the second round for the second year in a row.

Kucherov now has seven goals and 18 points in 10 post-season games, which is good for third in QMJHL playoff scoring.

Jean-Sebastien Dea had two goals and an assist for the eighth-seeded Huskies, who produced 24 goals in the 4-1 series win, while Sven Andrighetto chipped in with three assists.

Andrighetto extended his point streak to 10 games and has six goals and 22 points, which leads the league in scoring.

Mathieu Brisebois had a goal and an assist to round out Rouyn-Noranda's offence.

Mikhail Grigorenko scored the lone goal for the fifth-seeded Remparts and it was just his second point of the series.

Alexandre Belanger made 14 saves for the win as Francois Brassard stopped 33-of-39 shots in defeat.

Kucherov opened the scoring on the power play 3:22 into the game and Brisebois added another power-play goal at 15:59 to make it 2-0 Huskies after 20 minutes of play.

Kucherov made it 3-0 before Grigorenko got one back for the Remparts at 14:24 of the second period.

With the series on the line Quebec came out for the third period and mustered only three shots on goal, giving up three more goals in the process.

Dea and Kucherov made it 5-1 less than seven minutes into the final period and Dea added another at 16:18.

Rouyn-Noranda went 2 for 3 on the power play while Quebec failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

The Huskies will face the top-seeded Halifax Mooseheads in the third round.
