MONTREAL - There was a pair of routs in Canadian varsity football action on Friday night — and they were both in Montreal.

Quarterback Francois Dessureault passed for 291 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the visiting Concordia Stingers defeated McGill 41-7 in RSEQ conference action.

Dessureault also rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown for the Stingers (2-0).

QB Dallon Kuprowski threw for 122 yards, a touchdown and an interception for the Redmen (0-2). Joel Houle also took some snaps at quarterback for McGill, completing 12 of 25 pass attempts for 113 yards.

Concordia won the 46th Shaughnessy Cup, an annual game between the two Montreal-based rivals. The award is named after Frank "Shag" Shaughnessy, a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame that coached McGill.

MONTREAL — Across town quarterback Gabriel Cousineau passed for 286 yards and three touchdowns as the Carabins crushed Bishop's.

Receiver Mik Davidson caught 122 yards and two TDs for Montreal (1-1).

Ronlee King-Fileen gained 76 yards on 11 carries for Bishop's (0-2).

WINNIPEG — Jordan Yantz passed for 206 yards and two touchdowns as Manitoba rolled past Regina.

Yantz also rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns for the Bisons (1-1).

Noah Picton threw for 130 yards and two TDs, with both Rams (1-1) scores going to Mitchell Picton.
