Daryl Jones and the Ice Edge people met with NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly and Commissioner Gary Bettman on Friday.
They talked for an hour-and-a-half, where part of the process was going through all of the things that were involved in the Phoenix bid, in terms of what they did right and what they did wrong. But Ice Edge reiterated that they very much want to be part of NHL ownership, looking at Atlanta, or potentially Nashville, and we know that the Dallas Stars are for sale as well. But this group is willing to be very patient.
Is Savard progressing "too quickly?"
It sounds a bit absurd to suggest that Marc Savard is progessing too quickly, based on the fact that he's been on the ice in full practice for the Boston Bruins, but it was only a couple of weeks ago that he was having trouble with light, etc. So he's basically been medically cleared, but the Bruins aren't taking any chances.
On Monday he will see a third-party specialist. They just want to be absolutely certain, based on his history. He's had a couple of concussions prior to this Grade 2 concussion, and they want to make sure that Savard is good to go, so he'll go through that process on Monday.
