Montreal's Eugenie Bouchard will have some high-profile help in the last Grand Slam tournament of the year.

Bouchard's representatives at IMG Tennis confirmed that the 25th-ranked women's player in the world will have tennis great Jimmy Connors as an advisor for the duration of the U.S. Open, which begins next week.

"Jimmy and Genie have been friends for a few years," read a statement from IMG. "He is in NYC this week and they are working together while he is in town, with no long-term plans at this time."

Bouchard was seen training with Connors this week in New York.

Connors, an eight-time Grand Slam winner and five-time U.S. Open champion, coached Andy Roddick for almost two years and also coached Maria Sharapova for one game at the Cincinnati Masters in 2013.

Earlier this month, Bouchard parted ways with coach Sam Sumyk and is working with Marko Dragic on a temporary basis. Bouchard will play Alison Riske of the United States in the first round of the U.S. Open. In five career head-to-head matches, Bouchard holds a 4-1 record against the American.
