TSN's Laura Diakun is with Team Canada at the IIHF World Hockey Championship. Sean Couturier returned to practice for Team Canada after missing the tournament opener with a mid-body injury.

The biggest news from practice today was the return of Team Canada forward Sean Couturier, who missed the last two practices and yesterday's game vs. the Czech Republic with a mid-body injury. As a consequence, little bit of line shuffling:

Matt Duchene was moved up to play with Ryan O'Reilly and Mark Scheifele on the top line, Jeff Skinner moved to the second unit with Claude Giroux and  Nathan MacKinnon. The third line was Alex Killorn with Sean Couturier and Wayne Simmonds while the kid line stayed the same (Travis Konecny - Brayden Point - Mitch Marner). Brayden Schenn was the extra forward.

The defensive pairings remained the same from yesterday's game for the most part, despite a bit of mixing and matching:
Marc-Edouard Vlasic - Jason Demers
Calvin de Haan - Tyson Barrie
Josh Morrissey - Mike Matheson

* Lee was the sub

They practiced for 45 minutes focusing on breakaway drills right off the bat.
