McKenzie reports the restricted free agent has agreed to a two-year deal with the Coyotes, worth $4.45 million.
The 23-year-old winger has not reported to training camp as he waits for a contract.
Rieder scored 14 goals and added 23 assists in 82 games last season. He scored 13 goals and recorded 21 points as a rookie in 2014-15.
