After taking part in regular practice on Friday, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is "day-to-day" and could be in the lineup for Game 5 against the Washington Capitals on Saturday.

"We’ll see how he responds and go from there," Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan told reporters after practice. "Right now, his status hasn’t changed at all."

Crosby was on ice for the team's full-contact practice, wearing a regular jersey and skating with wingers Jake Guentzel and Patric Hornqvist

"We'll see," Crosby answered reporters regarding a possible Game 5 return. "I don't want to rule it out. It's not really up to me.

"I feel good. You know, right now just kind of following what I'm told to do. I feel good."

Crosby skated on his own on Thursday while recovering from a concussion.

Crosby suffered the concussion in Game 3 when he was cross-checked in the head by Capitals defenceman Matt Niskanen while crossing the net. Niskanen was given a game misconduct on the play but no further discipline.

The Penguins topped the Capitals 3-2 in Game 4 without Crosby, and now hold a 3-1 series lead on their division rivals.
