BURLINGTON, Ont. -- Ontario's Mark Bice hammered British Columbia's Jason Montgomery 12-3 in eight ends Friday and advanced to the final of the Canadian mixed curling championship.
Bice opened with two in the first end then stole three in the second end to take control of the semifinal match early. His rink blew the match open with four in the sixth end.
After Montgomery could only manage a point in the eighth end, the teams shook hands.
Bice will face Nova Scotia's Mark Dacey in Sunday's final. Dacey earned an automatic berth in the final after winning the round robin earlier Friday with a 9-6 victory over Northern Ontario's Jordan Chandler.
Bice finished second in the round-robin to advance to the semifinal. Montgomery advanced to the semi with a 10-9 extra-end win in a tiebreaker against Manitoba's Dave Boehmer.
