The Canadian Senior Curling Championships are set to begin Saturday for both men and women at the Recreation Centre in Abbotsford, B.C.

There are several familiar faces in the women's field, including six-time Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion Colleen Jones of Nova Scotia. Also in competition are veterans Heidi Hanlon of New Brunswick and Cathy King of Alberta, along with Cathy Cunningham of Newfoundland and Labrador.

On the men's side, defending champion Kelly Robertson of Manitoba is back in the field, along with former Canadian and world senior champion Eugene Hritzuk of Saskatchewan.

There are 12 entries in each of the men's and women's fields. The first place teams will advance directly to the championship final, while the second and third-placed rinks will meet in the semifinal.

The men's and women's champions will advance to the 2013 World Senior Championships.
