KELOWNA, B.C. -- Sarah Wazney of Winnipeg is joining former Canadian and world champion Kelly Scott's curling team.

Wazney will replace lead Jacquie Armstrong, who has decided to take some time off from the sport.

Wazney won a Canadian junior championship in 2008 playing lead for Manitoba's Kaitlyn Lawes, who is currently third for Jennifer Jones.

Wazney will move to Kelowna to curl with Scott, third Jeanna Schraeder and second Sasha Carter, Scott told The Canadian Press in an e-mail.

Scott won Canadian titles in 2006 and 2007 as well as a world championship in 2007.

She lost in the final of the national championship to Alberta's Heather Nedohin in February.

"Sarah's energy and enthusiasm is very refreshing, and her decision to join a team from another province shows her dedication to the sport and her love of the game," Scott said.
