MONTREAL -- Nova Scotia and Quebec posted victories Sunday night to improve to 3-0 at the Canadian mixed curling championship.

Mike Fournier's Glenmore CC team had a slim 4-3 lead playing the sixth end without last stone advantage. Key steals in that end plus steals of two points in each of the seventh and eighth ends finished the 9-3 romp over Jeff Hartung in Draw 4.

The victory pushed Quebec into a tie for first place with Nova Scotia's Brent MacDougall, whose CFB Halifax rink won 13-4 over Inuvik's Nick Saturnino (0-3).

Hartung's first loss leaves him at 2-1.

B.C.'s Tom Buchy of Kimberley improved to 2-1 by defeating two-time Canadian Mixed champion Robert Campbell of Charlottetown 10-4. The P.E.I. skip dropped to 0-3.

Manitoba's Terry McNamee earned his first win, 7-4 over Whitehorse's Steve Fecteau (0-3). The first deuce of the game was scored by Manitoba in the eighth end for their first lead of the game. A steal of two points in the ninth sealed the win for McNamee.

Play continues Monday at the Town of Mount Royal Curling Club.
