Ontario moves into a tie atop the senior curling standings

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. -- Ontario's Howard Rajala moved into a tie atop of the standings of the Canadian senior men's curling championship Sunday.

Rajala cruised to a 12-5 win over Northwest Territories' Glen Hudy to tie Wayne Tallon of New Brunswick with 3-0 records after Draw 6.

Tallon kept pace with a 7-3 victory over Alan O'Leary of Nova Scotia, while Alberta's Wade White (2-1) moved into a four-way tie for second with a 10-8 win over Glenn Goss of Newfoundland and Labrador.

On the women's side, Manitoba's Lois Fowler joined the leaders with an 8-7 extra end win over Northern Ontario's Vicky Barrett.

Fowler, Alberta's Debbie Santos and Nova Scotia's Colleen Pinkney are tied with 3-0 records.

Karen Lepine of British Columbia defeated Nola Murphy of P.E.I. 9-5, and Ann McKellar-Gillis of Northwest Territories downed Saskatchewan's Cathy Inglis 9-7.

The tournament runs for both sides through March 24, with the winners representing Canada at the 2014 world senior curling championships.
