OSLO — Canada's Andre De Grasse raced to his second consecutive Diamond League victory.

The 21-year-old from Markham, Ont., won the 100 metres in a season's best 10.07 seconds at the Bislett Games on Thursday.

"I ran my season best as I wanted," De Grasse said. "In next races I hope for more improvements. Next should be definitely a sub-10 seconds."

De Grasse won the 200 metres at last week's Diamond League meet in Birmingham, England.

Running in temperatures of about 14 C — chilly for a sprinter — De Grasse edged American Michael Rodgers, who was second Thursday in 10.09. Dentarius Locke of the U.S. was third in 10.12.

Canadian Shawn Barber won silver in the men's pole vault, while teammate Christabel Nettey was second in women's long jump. The 22-year-old Barber, who won the world championships last August, cleared 5.73 metres to finish behind Renaud Lavillenie of France (5.80).

Nettey, a 25-year-old from Surrey, B.C., jumped 6.68 metres in the long jump. Ivana Spanovic of Serbia won the gold with a leap of 6.94.

This season marks De Grasse's first competing on the prestigious IAAF Diamond League circuit.

He's coming off a breakout season that saw him win both the 100 and 200 metres at the Pan American Games, and race to bronze in both the 100 metres and the 4x100 metres at the world championships.
