TORONTO — Jacob de la Rose had a goal and two assists to lead Sweden to a 5-1 victory over Denmark on Saturday at the world junior championship at Air Canada Centre.

Anton Blidh, Sebastian Aho, Lucas Wallmark and William Nylander had the other goals for Sweden (2-0-0-0).

Nick Olesen scored for Denmark (0-0-1-1).

Sweden scored three times in the opening period to chase goaltender Georg Sorensen, who made six saves over 20 minutes of action.

"It was really important for us to get that first goal," said Swedish defenceman William Lagesson. "It helped us relax and put the pressure on them."

Sorensen was replaced by Thomas Lillie, who made 33 saves. Swedish netminder Linus Soderstrom stopped 19 shots.

Sweden opened the preliminary round with a 5-2 victory over the Czech Republic on Friday while Denmark dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to Russia in its opener.
