DeLaet expected to be ready for PGA

The minor thumb sprain that knocked Graham DeLaet out of the Canadian Open last week is not expected to keep him out of the PGA Championship.
TSN golf analyst Bob Weeks reports that DeLaet should be ready to go for the season's final major starting Aug. 13 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.
The native of Weyburn, Saskatchewan shot an even-par 72 in the first round at Glen Abbey on Thursday but hurt his thumb during while hitting his drive on the 12th hole.
He finished the round and played four holes on Friday before pulling out of the event.
"I knew I didn't have it," DeLaet told the Canadian Press. "I wanted to keep trying, but it was just kind of pointless."
DeLaet remains hopeful of being selected to play for the International Team at the Presidents Cup in early October.
"I've still got the PGA (Championship) coming up here in a few weeks, a couple playoff events before they make the decisions for the Presidents Cup, and I want to try to be healthy make a good run with that team," DeLaet said.
