The New Jersey Devils released veterans Tomas Kaberle and Ruslan Fedotenko from their tryout agreements on Tuesday.

Kaberle had one assist and was plus-two in two preseason games, while Fedotenko had no points and was minus-two in two games.

Kaberle, 36, was trying to catch on with an NHL club after playing last season for HC Kladno in his native Czech Republic. He last played in the NHL for the Montreal Canadiens in 10 games during the 2012-13 season.

Fedotenko, 35, also played in Europe last season with Donbass Donetsk of the KHL. He skated in 47 games for the Philadelphia Flyers in 2012-13 and had four goals and nine assists.

Another veteran player on tryout, Scott Gomez, remains with the Devils. He is nursing a sore wrist and will not take part in Tuesday's team scrimmage.
