TORONTO - Gord Dineen is out as the head coach of the Toronto Marlies.

Marlies' assistant general manager Kyle Dubas announced Tuesday that he was searching for a new head coach for the American Hockey League team as part of major staff overhaul.

Dineen has been offered to remain on as an associate coach.

Associate coach Derek King was fired while assistant coach Ben Simon has been offered another position within the organization.

Dineen was named the Marlies' head coach on July 15 of 2014, after serving as the team's assistant for the previous five seasons.

The team secured the seventh seed in the AHL's Western Conference this past regular season with a 39-28-9 record, but was eliminated in the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs, losing a best-of-five series 3-2 to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
