Indian Wells, CA - World No. 1 and defending champion Novak Djokovic powered his way into a fifth career BNP Paribas Open final with a dominant straight-set victory over Andy Murray Saturday at the $5.3 million Masters 1000 series event.

The top-seeded Djokovic broke Murray's first serve en route to easily taking the first set, then again broke the fourth-seeded Scottish star early in the second on the way to a 6-2, 6-3 decision in just an hour and 28 minutes.

Djokovic, who downed Roger Federer in last year's title match at Indian Wells, improved to 17-8 lifetime against Murray and has won the last six meetings between the two. That includes a four-set triumph in the final of January's Australian Open.

In addition to last year's crown, Djokovic also titled at Indian Wells in 2008 and 2011 and was ousted by Rafael Nadal in the 2007 championship match.

Federer, seeded second in this year's event, continues his quest for a fifth career Indian Wells title when the all-time Swiss great takes on sixth-seeded Canadian Milos Raonic in Saturday's second semi.

Raonic made his way into the final four by outlasting Nadal in a three-set thriller in Friday's quarterfinals.
