Director of European Scouting Goran Stubb: "He has a very good shot. He is a right-handed shot and he is used on the power play, even in the (Elite) League despite being a young player. He is a very smart player. He could be a little more physical in his game, but that is something that he is learning."

NHL Central Scouting's Chris Edwards: "Calvin shows a lot of patience and poise for a young defenseman. He has high-end puck skill and passing ability. He has a very good shot, hard and accurate, and a very good ability to get the puck through traffic to the net. He sees the ice very well and moves the puck through traffic. His skating is excellent, mobility, agility and speed. His biggest asset is his hockey sense. He makes very few mistakes."

NHL Central Scouting's Jack Barzee: "I think Kyle's got a little bit of Chris Drury in him. I look at his passion, his natural skills and his tenaciousness, and that's what I saw in Chris. He's a lot of fun to watch because he has that vision along with a wicked shot. He very seldom passes up the opportunity to make the right play -- he's in position to shoot the puck and has that insight into whether to freeze and dish or just let it go."

International Scouting Services: "O'Reilly followed up good rookie season with the Otters where he registered 52 pts with a 66 point campaign in 2008-09. Sees the ice well, reads and reacts quickly. Displays a good work ethic, on and off the ice. Battles extremely hard, protects the puck well and controls the play along the wall. Has been a horse for his team logging crazy amounts of ice time in every situation. His skating is anything but pretty but has improved since last year. Bloodlines bode well for Ryan, as his brother Cal played three years for the OHL's Windsor Spitfires and is an NHL Draft pick of the Nashville Predators. Regarded as one of the best penalty killers and faceoff men in the OHL Western Conference. O'Reilly will be a highly sought after commodity early in the draft."

NHL Central Scouting's E.J. McGuire: "Tim Erixon brings to his Swedish Elite League club team, the same kind of elite hockey skills that perhaps his dad, Jan Erixon, did for over 500 games in the NHL. A smart defenseman who can either lead a rush or support the rush from behind, he was on display at the World Junior Championship in helping bring his team to the final game."

NHL Central Scouting's Jack Barzee: "He's such an explosive skater. It's pretty obvious he's a target of every opposing team because he's the engine that drives the train. Really, though, he's a world-class skater. I'd say he's in the same class as John Moore (Central Scouting's No. 8 ranked skater) and Josh Birkholz (No. 33) of this year's class." Eden Prairie head coach Lee Smith:" We've been trying to get him to shoot more because he's got such a great shot, but he's so unselfish with the puck and makes such good decisions -- he can really set up his teammates. He's grown into his body and he feeds off teams trying to take him out by matching that physicality. He's gotten good at initiating contact, so he hasn't allowed people to check him. He's getting to them first. . . . His game is made for the new kind of NHL, with the focus on skills, skating and ability to maneuver with the puck. I think the smaller defensemen in the NHL make it because of their skating, and that's Nick's best asset. " |

NHL Central Scouting's Gary Eggleston: "Drew is a hard-working player who plays with a lot of drive and energy. He is big and strong and plays a tough and physical game in the corners and along the wall. He finishes his checks with determination. He has good hands, handles the puck well and makes a firm and accurate pass. He creates offense from his hard work and his never giving up on the puck. He battles hard and is tough to play against. He has very good anticipation of the play and puck flow."
