The determination of Saskatchewan Roughriders receiver Weston Dressler won over the fans in voting for this year's CFL Play of the Year.

Dressler's catch and run for a touchdown garnered over 60 per cent of the over 300,000 votes cast compared to just under 40 per cent for the punt return for a major by Hamilton Tiger-Cats standout Brandon Banks.

On the winning play, Dressler used pure determination to shake a tackle, keep his balance, and pull a spin move to beat three Ottawa Redblacks defenders on his way to the end zone. Dressler split two more defenders inside the five-yard line to complete the long touchdown reception.

The second best play saw Banks take a booming punt from Ricky Schmitt of the B.C. Lions at his own 13-yard line, make two quick cuts en route to a 97-yard return for a touchdown.

Banks will be in action later on Sunday as his Tiger-Cats face the Calgary Stampeders in the 102nd Grey Cup.
