The Edmonton Eskimos released Willie Jefferson on Friday to pursue NFL opportunities.
On Thursday, Jefferson retweeted a report that he had signed with the Washington Redskins.
The Baylor product spent the last two seasons with the Eskimos, picking up 10 sacks and 43 tackles.
Prior to his stint with the Eskimos, Jefferson signed with the Houston Texans as a free agent in 2013.
