UFC 205’s loss is UFC 206’s gain as TSN's SportsCentre first reported on Wednesday that the middleweight bout between Rashad Evans and Tim Kennedy that was originally slated for the New York event this Saturday will now take place in Toronto on December 10th at the Air Canada Centre.

Evans was pulled from the Madison Square Garden card when he was denied a license by the New York State Athletic Commission due to a “medical issue.”

The Niagara Falls, New York native is a former UFC light heavyweight champion and is looking to bounce back from defeats to Glover Teixeira (first round KO) and Ryan Bader (unanimous decision) in his last two fights, stretching back to October of 2015.

Prior to those setbacks, he was on a two fight winning streak beating big names in Chael Sonnen and Dan Henderson at UFC 167 and UFC 161 respectively.

Kennedy meanwhile, dropped his most recent fight at UFC 178 to Yoel Romero but leading into that bout was riding an impressive four fight winning streak that included a victory over current middleweight champion Michael Bisping.

The San Luis Obispo, California native holds an overall 18-5 MMA record and is 3-1 since joining the UFC.

UFC 206 takes place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on December 10th and will be headlined by a light heavyweight title bout between champion Daniel Cormier and number one contender Anthony Johnson.
