AFC East

Buffalo Bills

For a team that has aspirations of returning to the post-season for the first time since 1999, the Bills have a schedule set up for a late playoff push both in real life and fantasy. From Week 11 to Week 16, the Bills have four home games (one in Toronto), and their two road contests are in a dome (Indianapolis) and a warm climate (Miami). The Bills should be able to find success offensively against most of their opponents in 2012.

Miami Dolphins

With question marks at quarterback and wide receiver, the Dolphins may be in for a long season. Their schedule looks favourable on paper for a fantasy running back, but without an established threat in the passing game, defences will key in on Reggie Bush, Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller. The Patriots and Bills should also have stronger defensive units this season, spelling more trouble for the Dolphins' attack.

New England Patriots

With the addition of receiver Brandon Lloyd, expect the Patriots aerial assault to continue in 2012. Tom Brady threw for over 5,000 yards last year, but finished second behind Drew Brees. Brady will have a great chance to repeat that feat throwing to Lloyd, Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. The late bye week should also help the Pats get healthy for the stretch. The only danger is matchups against Houston and San Francisco.

New York Jets

The first five weeks will be a true litmus test for the Jets. Aside from a Week 3 meeting with Miami, New York will contend with the upstart Bills, veteran Steelers, as well as division champions in the 49ers and Texans. Tim Tebow could be thrust into the starting the lineup by Week 6, if not sooner, unless the Jets can fight through their challenging start. Things get easier after that, but there is still two matchups with the Patriots to deal with.
