TSN.ca NHL Power Rankings

This Week16Last Week11Pittsburgh Penguins 13-7

A ridiculous run of injuries on the blueline leaves Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin waiting for breakout passes from th Deryk Engellands and Mark Letestus of the hockey world.
Key Injuries: D Sergei Gonchar (wrist), D Kris Letang (shoulder), D Brooks Orpik (lower body), D Alex Goligoski (lower body), LW Chris Kunitz (lower body), RW Tyler Kennedy (groin).

This Week17Last Week12Phoenix Coyotes 11-8

The blueline injury situation is only slightly better in Phoenix, where they don't have the same kind of high-end scoring talent to help compensate for the losses.
Key Injuries: D Kurt Sauer (head), D Zbynek Michalek (lower body), D Ed Jovanovski (lower body).

This Week18Last Week27Nashville Predators 9-8-1

Goals are hard to come by for this group, as witnessed by two goals on 55 shots against the Canadiens on Saturday night, but top-notch goaltending has helped the Predators win seven of ten.
Key Injuries: None.

This Week19Last Week20Ottawa Senators 8-6-3

Given the likes of Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza and Alex Kovalev, how is it that Mike Fisher (with five) is the only Senator with more than one power play goal?
Key Injuries: D Anton Volchenkov (elbow).

This Week20Last Week15Columbus Blue Jackets 10-6-2

Only one regulation time loss in the last seven, but it was a doozy, dropping a 9-1 decision to the Red Wings, a game that could very well make it impossible for G Steve Mason to recover statistically from his slow start to his sophomore season.
Key Injuries: LW Raffi Torres (jaw).

This Week21Last Week22St. Louis Blues 6-8-4

Losers of seven of the last eight, there isn't a lot to like about the Blues right now, aside from goaltending the goaltending tandem of Chris Mason and Ty Conklin that is stopping pucks at a handy .925 clip.
Key Injuries: None.

This Week22Last Week18Edmonton Oilers 8-10-2

The Oilers have dropped six of seven but aren't getting enough production from their forwards, as LW Dustin Penner and RW Ales Hemsky are the only ones on pace for better than 50 points.
Key Injuries: D Denis Grebeshkov (knee).

This Week23Last Week23New York Islanders 7-6-7

2-0-2 in the last four, the Isles have discovered a power play, going 6-for-14 (42.9%) in those four games.
Key Injuries: G Rick DiPietro (knee), C Doug Weight (upper body), D Radek Martinek (knee).

This Week24Last Week16Anaheim Ducks 6-9-3

Losing three straight on the road leaves the Ducks looking up -- way up -- at the rest of the Pacific Division.
Key Injuries: None.

This Week25Last Week25Montreal Canadiens 9-11

Thursday's win at Phoenix represented Montreal's second regulation win all season. Of course, it came in between two games in which the Habs were shut out by Calgary and Nashville.
Key Injuries: D Andrei Markov (ankle tendon).

This Week26Last Week24Tampa Bay Lightning 7-4-6

3-0-2 in the last five, the Lightning have one of the game's hottest goaltenders, Antero Niittymaki, and have given him all five starts; the first time this season a Lightning goaltender has had more than three starts in a row.
Key Injuries: None.

This Week27Last Week29Minnesota Wild 7-11-2

The progress is slow, but a 4-2-2 record in the last eight is a sign of respectability, though it will be tough to maintain if someone other than Mikko Koivu or Andrew Brunette doesn't start scoring.
Key Injuries: LW Pierre-Marc Bouchard (concussion), RW Petr Sykora (concussion).

This Week28Last Week28Florida Panthers 7-9-1

Though the Panthers are an encouraging 5-2 in the last seven, three of those wins have come via the shootout, so that tempers the enthusiasm just a little.
Key Injuries: LW David Booth (concussion).

This Week29Last Week26Toronto Maple Leafs 3-10-5

There's not much to show in the standings, but RW Phil Kessel has contributed seven points in his first six games.
Key Injuries: D Mike Komisarek (quadriceps).

This Week30Last Week30Carolina Hurricanes 3-12-4

Snapped a 14-game winless slide with a shootout win over Minnesota Sunday, leaving the 'Canes with one regulation win and two shootout victories thus far.
Key Injuries: C Eric Staal (upper body), G Cam Ward (leg).

Note: Power Rankings are produced using a formula that takes into account a compilation of individual player grades based on statistical production. More importantly, the team grades intend to take into account which players are in the lineup to replace those who are out due to injury or suspension and aim to reflect which team would win a seven-game series on neutral ice. Rankings Posted: November 16.
