These Roto Rankings are an attempt to provide a generic fantasy baseball value based on this season's player projections, taking standard 5x5 categories (R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, W, SV, SO, ERA, WHIP) and position scarcity into consideration.
The rankings operate under the following assumptions:
- 12 Team league - 23-player roster including: 2 C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, CI, MI, 5 OF, UTIL, 9 P
As each league's rules differ, or a player's position eligibility changes, a player's roto value can be affected and different than this standardized version. In deeper leagues, for example, players at scarce positions (ie. pitching, second base) could have greater value.
400 players goes deeper than standard size leagues, to be sure, but those in deep leagues can at least have a ballpark idea where certain players are currently ranked, relative to others.
