Change is afoot in the TSN.ca NHL Power Rankings, at least after the top couple spots, where the Chicago Blackhawks and Montreal Canadiens remain.

Moving back towards the top tier, the Pittsburgh Penguins climb from eight to three, thanks in part to improved production from their trade acquisitions, along with the return to the lineup of top defenceman Kris Letang.

Washington continues their meteoric rise up the charts, going from 14 to 10. A little over a month ago, the Capitals were ranked 28th.

Dallas looked like they might have been playing for next season, but five straight wins keeps them in the thick of the playoff race and helps lift the Stars from 21 to 14 in this week's rankings.

Edmonton's five-game losing skid drops them from 15 to 20, the biggest fall of the week.

Other Canadian teams include, the Toronto Maple Leafs, hitting a season-high fourth in the rankings after one regulation loss in the last 13 games.

The Ottawa Senators snapped a five-game losing streak with back-to-back wins, but they dropped from five to seven.

Vancouver slips from 10 to 12, getting passed by Anaheim getting healthier, with the return of Ryan Getzlaf, along with the surging Capitals.

Three straight wins helped lift the Winnipeg Jets from 23 to 22, though they could have climbed more if not for the latest injury to defenceman Tobias Enstrom.

Finally, winning three of four brings the Calgary Flames up from 30 to 29.
