Canada's best skaters compete for Olympic berths on TSN

TSN will be in Ottawa as the nation's top figure skaters compete for national titles and a place on the upcoming Canadian Olympic roster at the 100th anniversary 2014 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships.

Live coverage from the Canadian Tire Centre begins with the Women's Short Program and Ice Dance Short Dance on Friday at 3 p.m. ET on TSN. CTV delivers a full recap of the historic event on Sunday (see below for a complete broadcast schedule). 

The top skaters in the country will contend for spots on the Skate Canada National Team and the Canadian team that will compete at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Also on the line is the chance to represent Canada at the 2014 ISU World Figure Skating Championships, the 2014 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, and the 2014 ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships.

The 100th anniversary 2014 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships features some of the biggest stars in figure skating, including:

- Three-time and reigning World Champion Patrick Chan
- Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games gold medallists Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir
- Defending national pair champions Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford
- 2013 women's champion Kaetlyn Osmond

CTV and TSN are the official broadcasters of Skate Canada domestic events. The networks' coverage is led by the industry's top figure skating broadcast team of Brian Williams, Rod Black, Tracy Wilson, and Sara Orlesky.

Williams hosts the 100th anniversary 2014 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships, bringing his extensive experience covering the Olympic Winter Games and Canadian and World Figure Skating Championships. Black, the voice of figure skating in Canada, is in the broadcast booth with analyst Wilson, a decorated Canadian figure skating champion and Olympic bronze medallist. Reporting rinkside and backstage is Orlesky, who covered figure skating events at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
