The Calgary Flames have assigned goaltender Eddie Lack to the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League and recalled David Rittich, the team announced on Friday.

Lack has not played since allowing five goals on 15 shots before being pulled in an 8-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Nov. 15.

The 29-year-old owns a 1-2 record this season with a 5.29 goals-against average and an .813 save percentage in 4 four games with the Flames.

Lack cleared waivers on Friday prior to being sent down to the AHL.

Rittich has played in six games for the Heat this season and posted a 5-1 record with a 2.17 goals-against average.  He appeared once for the Flames at the NHL level last year.
