Calgary Flames Goaltender Brian Elliott will not start against his former team, the St. Louis Blues, on Saturday.

Instead, Flames head coach Glen Gulutzan said backup Chad Johnson will get the start in goal.

So far this season Elliott has struggled with his new team. He is 0-3 with a 4.72 goals against average and .839 save percentage.

The 31-year-old spent five years in St. Louis where he sported a 2.01 GAA and .925 SV%

He also backstopped the Blues to a Western Conference final appearence last season.

"We thought about it, obviously, with Ells having such a great career in St. Louis, but at the end of the day, we thought we wanted to keep Johnny going a little bit so we put him in," Gulutzan said, per Jeremy Rutherford of St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The Flames are 1-3-1 through five games so far this season.
