Flames place F Backlund on IR
The Calgary Flames announced Thursday that forward Mikael Backlund was placed on injured reserve. The 25-year-old left-handed Swede posted a goal and three assists in 11 games this season. To fill the roster spot, the Flames recalled forward Michael Ferland from Adirondack of the American Hockey League.
