Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are set to appear together this afternoon for the first time at a news conference to promote their May 2 megafight in Las Vegas.

You can watch the drama unfold and hear what the fighters have to say on TSN3 and TSN GO beginning at 4:30pm et/1:30pm pt.

There are now just over eight weeks to go before the dream fight that many observers believed might never happen finally takes place at the MGM Grand Garden. The Mayweather and Pacquiao camps have discussed a fight and negotiated several times going back to at least 2009.

The fight, which was announced by Mayweather's camp on Feb. 20, is expected to be the richest in boxing history.

"I promised the fans we would get this done and we did," Mayweather said after signing the contract.

"It is an honour to be part of this historic event," Pacquiao said after the announcement. "I dedicate this fight to all the fans who willed this fight to happen and, as always, to bring glory to the Philippines and my fellow Filipinos around the world."

Mayweather, 38, is a 2.5-to-1 favourite in the fight and enters with a record of 47-0 with 26 knockouts. Pacquiao, 36, is 57-5-2 with 38 knockouts.

While Wednesday's news conference represents the first time the two camps have been in the same room, there has already been some chatter between the sides.

Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, said shortly after the signing, "Floyd should enjoy being the A-Side while he can because on May 2 Manny is going to put him on his backside."

Mayweather himself added on the day of the announcement, "I am the best ever, TBE, and this fight will be another opportunity to showcase my skills and do what I do best, which is win," Mayweather said. "Manny is going to try to do what 47 before him failed to do, but he won't be successful. He will be No. 48."
