PALERMO, Italy — French midfielder Seko Fofana showed both his speed and accurate shooting to grab two late goals — his first in Serie A — as Udinese won 3-1 at Palermo on Thursday.

Having joined from Manchester City in July, the 21-year-old Fofana put Udinese ahead in the 74th by curling a shot into the top corner then finished off a swift counterattack with one touch five minutes later.

Macedonia striker Ilija Nesterovski had put Palermo ahead 10 minutes in before veteran French striker Cyril Thereau, who previously played for Chievo, equalized before halftime with his 50th Serie A goal.

Palermo ended with 10 men when Roland Sallai picked up his second yellow for diving in the 82nd.

Udinese moved up to 12th while Palermo remained one spot from bottom after its fifth loss in five home matches.

After loan spells with Fulham and French club Bastia, Fofana signed a long-term contract with Udinese.
