The Saskatchewan Roughriders are going with Mitchell Gale behind centre Friday night against the undefeated Ottawa Redblacks.

Regular starter Darian Durant hurt his left leg during the second quarter of Saturday's contest against the BC Lions. Gale came in and threw for 247 yards on 17-30 passing with a touchdown. The Riders were defeated 40-27 and fell to 0-3 on season. 

X-rays on Durant revealed there was no break, but still won't be ready to play Friday.  

According to TSN Senior Correspondent Gary Lawless, the Riders expect Durant to compete to play Week 6 against the Montreal Alouettes on July 29.

Gale, 26, has spent time with Roughriders, Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats over his four-year CFL career after playing his college ball at Abilene Christian in Texas.
