ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Rays ended a tough season at Tropicana Field with another loss.

Avisail Garcia hit two home runs and John Danks took a no-hitter into the sixth inning Sunday as the Chicago White Sox beat Tampa Bay 10-5 in the Rays' home finale.

The Rays went 36-45 at home this season, their worst finish since having the same record in 2003. Tampa Bay set team lows for homers (51) and triples (six) in a season at home.

"We just didn't get things rolling our way," Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said. "It's just one of those years here. It's really hard for me to pinpoint."

Their 81st loss assured the Rays of a non-winning season for the first time since 2007.

Garcia's first homer started a four-run second inning against Nathan Karns (1-1) during which Marcus Semien added a three-run homer for a 4-0 lead.

Garcia led off the sixth with his second home run of the game and his seventh of the season, starting a six-run inning that chased Karns.

"All things considered, you'd rather have a six-run inning than take your chances going out there trying to throw a no-hitter," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said.

The White Sox followed with four more hits, including Alexei Ramirez's two-run double off reliever Alex Colome. Rookie Jose Abreu drove in Ramirez with a single for his 105th RBI, giving the White Sox a 10-0 lead.

Winning for the first time in 10 starts since July 25, Danks (10-11) gave up two runs on two hits in six innings. Brandon Guyer's double with one out in the sixth was the first hit for Tampa Bay.

Kevin Kiermaier's ground ball and Wil Myers' two-out single drove in the Rays' runs off Danks.

Garcia had three of Chicago's 12 hits while Semien and Jordan Danks each had two.

Karns gave up six runs in five innings in his second start for the Rays, who will finish their season with six road games.

"At times I missed my spots and they took advantage of that," Karns said.

TRAINER'S ROOM

White Sox: 1B Paul Konerko was out the lineup for the second straight day, but Ventura said it is not related to the broken hand that kept him out two weeks.

Rays: RHP Brad Boxberger (birth of daughter) and INF Sean Rodriguez (death in family) both rejoined the team.

HOME COOKING?

Tampa Bay's home season attendance total was 1,446,464 after an announced crowd Sunday of 21,270. It was a slight drop from 1,510,300 last year, and the lowest since 1,387,603 in 2007.

PAUL'S PLACE

The Rays played a video tribute on the scoreboard before the bottom of the second honouring Konerko, who is retiring after the season. This is his 18th big league season.

UP NEXT

Rays: RHP Alex Cobb (9-8) is the scheduled to face Boston RHP Clay Buchholz (8-9) Tuesday night. Tampa Bay and Boston both will miss the playoffs one year after the Red Sox beat the Rays in the ALDS en route to the 2013 World Series title. "It's awful for both of us," Maddon said.
