Sean Foley, the Canadian golf instructor who works with Olympic gold medalist Justin Rose, among others, has found a new home.

Foley announced the opening of the Foley Performance Academy at EaglesDream in Lake Mary, Fla., on Monday. The centre will begin operation on Jan. 1, 2017.

“This is the realization of a lifelong dream for me,” stated Foley, who began his teaching career at Glen Abbey GC in Oakville, Ont.

The centre will cater to juniors who will live at the facility and get golf instruction as well as world-class academics.

“There’s nothing more rewarding than helping kids reach their potential, not only in sport, but also in life,” stated Foley in a press release.

While Foley is best known for teaching PGA Tour professionals ranging from Stephen Ames to Tiger Woods, he has always held a passion for helping youngsters. Along with a number of other Canadian professionals, Foley worked with teens from Canada and around the world in Orlando. Many of his students have gone on to university scholarships and professional careers.

The new Foley Performance Academy already has a contingent of Chinese students but it’s expected to see a growth in golfer-students from other parts of the world in the coming years.
